Environment Award

Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo (4th from left) and Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. (2nd from left) award the cheque worth P100,000 and trophy to Mangaldan Mayor Herminio Romero (4th from left) for winning the Cleanest River and Riverbank Inland River Category-Municipal Level for 2012 during the Pakar Awards held at the Bañaga Bridge Area in Bugallon last May 1. Mangaldan won the same award in 2009 and 2010, making it to the Hall of Fame. The Pakar Awards is the provincial government’s way of giving recognition to LGUs which have actively participated to Gov. Espino’s program in saving and protecting rivers from further degradation. Joining the celebration are (from left): Pangasinan Mayors League President Noel Nacar of Dasol, 1st Dist. Representative Leopoldo N. Bataoil and some Mangaldan officials. (PIO Photo by Bob Sison)
